This website is primarily dedicated to the memory and courage of an amazing young girl and to the
continued strength and inspiration of her family. Also I hope that the site will raise awareness of
neuroblastoma which is a fairly rare but particularly serious and nasty form of childhood cancer
that attacks the nervous system.
Christine Shayna Thomas “Christi”, the beloved daughter of Shayne and Angela Thomas, the adored
big sister and best friend of Shayla and te very special friend of Emma and Nicky died on September
19, 2006 at just 9 years old. Christi battled with Neuroblastoma for 4 hard years during which she
was described as "bravely fighting with the strength of a soldier while maintaining the grace and
beauty of a ballerina, happily teaching life’s lessons to everyone she met and touched along the
way". Christi had great loves of animals, people, art, learning, ballet and most of all she was
beautiful, funny and had a great love of life that never, ever left her.
Although our sweet Christi has indeed 'gone too soon' from earth, she will forever live on in the
hearts and minds of her family, friends & thousands of others around the world who knew her in
person and through her website which recorded her incredible journey.
Throughout her illness with the tireless, loving support of her family Christi, worked to support
and raise awareness of neuroblastoma. This work continues in many ways after her death. The most
powerful example of this being an experimental cell line taken from Christi's body is being used in
trials in Amercia to try to establish a cure for this terrible illness - given that only 1 in 20 of
these succeeds it's testament to this amazing girl that hers is that one!
I could never do justice to this incredible, inspirational, beautiful young girl and her wonderful
family but you can find out much more about them all by visiting Christi's website and the blog her
family started during her illness and faithfully continue to update :-

I think the following quote from Christi's mum Angela perfectly sums up our feelings for Christi :
"Without a doubt, she knows she’s loved! Without a doubt, she gave one hell of a fight!"
Friends all over the world continue to love, miss & be inspired by Christi and her family.
We miss you Christi xx
Remembered, missed, wished for and most importantly,m loved always - Christi Thomas (12th May 1997 -
19th September 2006)
****---------------BABY ANGEL------------------- ****
Also through this website we remember the short (less than 24 hours) but important life of my
special niece whom we have come to know as "Baby Angel" - her real name is Christi too but that
makes life more confusing and painful just now - besides a Baby Angel is now what she is.
Our Baby Angel is the much wanted and long waited for, very beautiful baby daughter of my twin
sister Emma. We all know Emma would have been the best "forever mummy" that any girl could wish for
but unfortunately, owing to one dreadful act that happened in the evening of bonfire night 2006, our
sweetheart became an angel on 6th November 2006, not quite 23 hours after she joined us on earth.
Although our Emma was never allowed to be "mummy" in the usual way, she has a different way to be
mummy to our little one and although the pain of that is not measurable, my sister does her little
one, herself and the rest of us very proud indeed.
Although very small, our Baby Angel was, is and will forever be a huge, much loved and very wished
for part of our family. We know that she is being taken good care of in her new place by her "angel
sister" Christi and also Lottie and that she has a very special "angel brother" called Jack - a
beautiful, funny little boy who should never have had to share the same experience as our baby
angel.
It would mean the very world to us and to Baby Angel, if she could both be remembered along with our
other very special angel Christi. This page and all of the friends we have met through the memory of
our beautiful and much loved Christi and our little baby angel mean so very much to us all and we
send you all our love and thanks for thinking of us.
Unfortunately it is sometimes difficult for us to visit Christi & Baby Angels page or those of their
amazing new angel 'family' ' and friends as often as we would like to but we are always mindful that
our girls have introduced us to some very, very special friends. We all really do think of you all
very often and are very grateful to eveyone who shares their time and kindness with us in honour of
our 2 beautiful little angels - thankyou xxx
****---------------EMMA------------------- ****
Also remembering my very much loved twin sister Emma who at last joined her Baby Angel on 19th July
2009 - Emma, my darling "better-half", I love you more than you could imagine & miss you so very
much. I hope that at finally you "know how it feels to be free" & that you have found the happiness
& peace that you so deserve.
Thinking of you
Hi Gorgeous Angel,
You're still making everyone smile & inspiring us all each and every day.You may not be here in person but you're very much part of the lives of so many people all over the world. I'm sure it's you helping your mum ,dad & Shayla to find the strength to carry on living as bravely as they are - they're all really special (wonder where they get that from.....??!!!). I'm sure you're with them and the rest of us each and every day making sure that we all remember your lessons.
You're a very loved & missed little girl, just like all of your new angel friends, including my own tiny baby girl but knowing that you're all playing happily together & taking care of each other makes being apart from you all a littel more bearable. I bet there'll be one huge party when we're altogether again. In the meantime keep close & keep inspiring us all to be as brave as you are.
Goodnight sweetie
Emma xx
Amazingly Brave Little Star
What a brave and beautiful little girl, just like Olivia facing all her problems with a smile, an inspiration to all. Our thoughts will be with you each and every day, I bet both Olivia and Christi will be making mischief in heaven together, keeping all the other angels entertained.
TAKE CARE

brave little one
what a brave little girl and what a brave family. being under great ormand street hospital i got to meet lots of children with cancer some of which the same as christi life throws so much at us to make us strong but like you i bet i would rather have been weak my love is sent to you i hope that christi has found my gracie so they can shine in the sky together x
You can shed a tear that she has gone,
Or you can smile because she has lived
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back,
Or you can open your eyes and see all she has left.
You can be empty because you cant see her,
Or you can be full of the love you shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow, and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that shes gone,
Or you can cherish her memory and let her live on......
You can cry and close your mind,be empty and turn your back,or you can do what angel Christi would want,
Smile,open your eyes,love and go on ........
You are loved and missed very much Sweetheart but you are still inspiring friends across the world.
Best wishes
I have just spent most of today reading Christi's story and am inspired.
Dear Christi.
I was surprised how many times I had to pinch myself as I was reading your story to remind myself that you were only 9 years old when you became an angel. I am certain that many grown-ups would be humbled by your courage, optimism and have their hearts melted by your gorgeous smile.
The lessons that we can learn from you and all of the other children who have battled against illnesses like neuroblastoma are many and not to be ignored. I will come back and visit you often now and pray that I can use some of your lessons in my life too.
In each and every photograph you look like a loved and happy child and your mum, dad and sister are very justified in their pride and love for you. My thoughts are with your very special family as they try to live on earth without their precious Christi but they are surrounded by the love of an incredible angel instead.
Keep dancing & smiling angel Christi.
What an amazing story ..
.. that you have Christi. After reading this page yesterday I spent most of the night reading your story on your parents blog and your own webpage. You all took me on such a journey through the entire range of emotions and I am amazed to say that there were as many smiles as tears along the way. I think that you are truly an inspirational little girl and the product of an inspirational and loving family. I had never heard of neuroblastoma before reading this but I know that I'll never, ever forget it. I've not ever been sure if I believe in heaven but after reading this I am starting to find it hard to continue with that. I have noticed the stories of so, so many brave children on this website and am moved to tears by them but few of them paint such a candid and honest picture through words and phtographs as your story does Christi. I send many good wishes to your family & friends and especially to your gorgeous little sister. I hope that you touch many, many other people the way that you have touched me today. Rest in peace. You brave and special little girl.
Hi Christi,
I just heard that your friend Penelope who also had neuroblastoma joined you in heaven today. Take good care of her just as you did when you met in hospital as she's only 4 years old and will need a 'big sister angel' to take care of her. I bet you both have fun dancing, playing and taking care of the animals in heaven. Why not show Penelope how to send orbs and other signs to her family to let them know she's OK - just like the way that you seem to send them to Mom, Dad & Shayla? Play and have lots of fun together and most of all be happy and keep on smiling at and inspiring everyone. Keep smiling you two special angels.
Nicky.
Happy Birthday
I came across this site and felt that I had to pass on my condolences to Christi's family and friends and wish Christi a happy birthday. My daughter Lilly died from neuroblastoma at the age of 10 last July. It will be her 11th birthday tomorrow and although I am angry and sad beyond words that she will not be here to celebrate with me and all of her friends, I feel sure that Lilly & Christi will have met in heaven and will be sharing lots of fun times together. Lilly too had a dazzling smile, loved animals and dancing and was passionate about helping others so they have many things in common. Thank you to Christi's friends and family for sharing her story. I am comforted to meet Christi via this site and have found a great sense companionship through reading her websites so thank you to her family and friends for that. My thoughts and good wishes are with you all today and every day : we are not alone though. Happy birthday to Christi & Lilly : have fun together. Lots of love from Laura.
Happy 10th Birthday
Dear Christi
Wishing you a wonderful 10th birthday and a very happy 1st birthday in heaven. There are so many people who wish that you were here in person but who all know that you are still with them.
I hope that you enjoy the Alice in Wonderland teaparty that is happening for you and if you listen very carefully you'll here the loudest ever happy birthday song coming from your friends all over the world.
I know you'll be with Mum, Dad, Shayla & everyone else today to give them strength to smile during your special day.
You continue to be a much loved, missed and inspirational little girl.
Have a lovely day sweetheart. Thinking of you, Shayla, Mum & Dad.
Nicky xx
Just wanted to say ......
....that Christi is a beautiful and obviously a very brave and extra-special little girl. I visited your website and blog after seeing this page that your friend had made for you and i was blown away by your courage and that of your mum, dad, lovely sister and the rest of family & friends. I will be visiting often to read more about you all and about neroblastoma - what a terrible illness. If I can be one tiny bit like Christi and if I can make my own family and children a tiny bit as happy, loving and wonderful as your family is then I'll think that I've done a very good job as a mum.
I bet that you're having a whale of a time in heaven - probably a bit sad not to have Shayla and your mum and dad with you but from what I've seen you'll be busying yourself dancing, looking after animals and doing a very important job of meeting all of the other little angels who have had cancer and especially neuroblastoma into heaven and of course being such a clever girl, you'll be learning as much as you can about heaven so that you can show then a really good time when you're altogether again (but I know that you're with them each day anyhow).
Thank you to everyone for sharing Christi's story with and most of all thank you to Christi for being such a special girl. I've only just met you but I just wanted to let you know that you will not be forgotten.
Much love
Sara
